Dave Merkley
David learned to love languages at a young age. After high school, he lived in Brazil for two years as a missionary and taught English classes on occasion. Then he attended University in Colorado, USA, where he got a degree in business. He then spent the next 20 years in corporate management and entrepreneurship before getting involved in English language schools. He has a passion for helping others, and for languages.

VINÍCIUS NOGUEIRA
Vini learned English while in Brazil, which led him to teach beginning and intermediate students for two years. He also has experience in logistics and problem-solving from work in the United States, which has helped both his language and his qualifications as Internexus/Antares’ general manager.

Meet Adele Tyson, our esteemed Center Director at Internexus Indiana English School. With a wealth of experience in education and a passion for empowering students, Adele leads our center with dedication and enthusiasm. Her commitment to excellence ensures that every student receives the support and guidance needed to thrive in their language learning journey. Under Adele’s leadership, our center continues to be a vibrant hub of learning, innovation, and growth.
ACADEMIC COORDINATOR
HEIDI QUIST
Heidi has loved languages since junior high when she both started learning French and realized how much she loved reading and writing in English. Towards the end of her time as an undergraduate student, she lived in France for a year and a half as a missionary. Since then, her career has taken different directions, including working as a copyright expert teaching (and learning from) many multinational teachers in the U.S. Foreign Service Institute. More recently, she has been teaching English and French since 2010. She has a BA in English, an MFA in Children’s Literature (Creative Writing), and an MA in French, with an emphasis in linguistics and teaching. Her passions related to English teaching include helping her students to improve in critical thinking, to develop their creativity, to understand the world around them, and to improve their abilities with English mechanics.

JAMAL JARADAT
Jamal earned his TESOL Certification from Huntington University in 2011, and taught at Exodus Refugee Immigration for a year and has been a part of the Globalcom family since 2012. Jamal has lived overseas for 23 years and is bilingual in English and Arabic. He enjoys playing sports, reading, and traveling.

KIRK FLEMING
My name is Kirk Fleming and I’m from Indianapolis, Indiana. I learned to enjoy being in an international environment and teaching English as a Second Language when I lived in an international dormitory in university. I have a Bachelor degree in History from Indiana University and a Master’s degree in TESOL from University of Southern Maine. I am always looking forward to meeting new international students who enjoy learning English.

My name is Larry Vander Spek. I have a Masters in Teaching English as a Second Language and also teach that subject at Horizon University. I have taught English for about 30 years in ten countries! I love teaching English and hope to see you soon and share our experiences together.

My name is Michel Mejia and I am happy to work in Internexus Indianapolis as an administrative assistant. I was born and raised in Honduras, I’ve had the opportunity to broaden my horizons in the United States, where I’ve spent over two years immersed in English language studies. As an administrative assistant, I’m eager to leverage my skills to support students in any way I can. Whether you need guidance, resources, or simply a helping hand, I’m here to assist. I’m grateful for the chance to connect with fellow students and professionals through Nexus and look forward to contributing to our vibrant community. I speak English and Spanish.
